Siamese / Snowshoe / Mixed (medium coat) Cat

Liriano the Cat needs a home

This beautiful girl... Liriano... is a Chocolate Lynx Point Siamese Snowshoe mix, with beautiful blue eyes!  Is she not one stunning kitty?  You don't find them much prettier, that's for sure!  She will be a sweet, loving companion for someone or some family!!

She and what we believed were her 4 kittens ...Altuve´, Springer, Gurriel and Yuli... and another mama kitty (Correa) and (we believe) her 3 kittens...  Houston, Astro and Reddick... were all rescued from horrible living conditions on Dec. 11, 2018.  The mamas and a few of the kittens were surviving,  but Astro and Yuli probably wouldn't have lasted much longer; they were indeed LUCKY FELINES when LHAR came to their rescue on that cold wintery day!

They were all named after the 2017 Baseball World Series Champions... the Houston Astros!  Their names derived from the team name, and the names of several of the players!  When 9 felines come in all at once, you have to be creative with names!!  And they are available for adoption now, too!

Liriano has been a very loving mama, and whoever lived in the mobile home they were all rescued from must have shown them love and attention, because they're all  very loving and friendly and are used to other cats - and they may have had a dog in that mess, too, because she doesn't seem afraid of the small Terrier in her foster home.  She purrs all the time and is quite 'the talker!'  Sh

e loves to be with you and near you and likes to lay on the curved edge of your body and just perch there if you are laying on your side!

Just a real sweet girl!  She's quite playful, too, and particularly likes organic catnip toys!

On Dec. 29th, LHAR received a frantic call for help asking if we had any nursing mamas, as a stray cat a family had taken in had given birth to 9 kittens on 12/26/17 but had to be rushed into surgery on 12/29 and didn't have any milk for the newborns.  Nursing moms are not common in December because it is well past the fall kitten season; we were fortunate to be able to offer Liriano and Correa as possible surrogate nursing mothers.  Several of them were pretty weak and we lost 3 within a day, so we put all 6 kittens with Liriano since she had more milk to offer.  In the next week, sadly we lost 2 more, but the surviving 4 kittens are all doing well now and were 6 weeks old on 2/6/18!  She's been a good mama to these kittens, and we'll keep her with them for another couple of weeks so she can discipline them and help them grow to be nice, sweet kitties for their future families!  She'll be able to be adopted on March, 1, 2018.

Liriano  is about 1 1/2 yrs. old as best we can guess; she may be a bit younger but we can only 'guess-timate' an adults age by the condition of their teeth.  From the living conditions they came from, they probably weren't fed the best food, so her teeth may be making her appear older than she actually is.   On Feb. 8th, she was spayed, given her 3rd FVRCP vaccination and her Rabies vaccination, a Revolution parasite treatment, she tested negative for both Feline Leukemia and FIV, and was microchipped (with a free lifetime registration!).

This little sweetheart's adoption fee is $125.00 - a 'tad bit' more than usual.  For all the vetting she's had done, that's still quite a bargain!  (If taken to a companion animal vet office as a family pet, her vet bill for everything would have more-than-likely be in the $400 range.)  The beautiful and unique fur coats on some of the kitties we rescue helps us be able to care for those kitties who may be with us longer or have medical needs.  We hope whoever adopts them believes they are truly 'worth a tad bit more.'
